What's your budget? Doing the install yourself or paying a shop ~$200 to install components?

if you want bass, get a sub. midrange and highs are what you need to look for in a set of speakers

"What are the best 6.5 speakers????" The best 6.5" speakers are going to be very expensive, well over $1000 can easily be spent.

So as asked, what is your budget? 94

I want to spend about $150.. and the only reason i cant do a sub is because my car is gutted.. I was thinking something like the S2000 speakers, i think they're even 3-way speakers..

i was thinking something like this...

For $42, you'll get what you pay for. If you're just looking for something to run off of deck power and reproduce sound, those will suffice.

If moderate is all you're after, you should be okay.

Get yourself a set of Eclipse SP6510... http://www.eclipse-web.com.au/...03f0c a small 2x75W RMS into 4 ohms amp and you will have all the bass you want, and pretty good SQ to boot. 94

That would work, too. Those speakers, a cheap amp and a wiring kit would just about fit his budget.

By cheap I mean inexpensive. There's a myriad of inexpensive, brand name amps available that will suit his needs, and fit into his budget.

ok i was just makin sure. Last person i heard say "cheap amp", wow he went really cheap; some no-name amp that sounded like total crap.

Good luck on your choice of speakers/amp!

Hahaha, yeah I hear ya. I was rather impressed with a $50 Lightning Audio FF250.1 that I installed into my '71 Beetle project. I hooked it up (at 2ohm's) to a pair of Kenwood 10's. For what it is, it sounds pretty darn good.

I have also had good luck with Alpine Type-rs running off an Alpine MRV-T320. I am making custom fiberglass door panels for the Alpine SPR-17s
