Default Difference between 88 and 89-91 harness

I have a '88 CRX HF with a torn and cut-up main harness. I went to my local junkyard, and they have a '90 CRX Si with a good looking harness. I heard the connector on the driver's side (maybe where it connects to the instruments) is different. I have a '90 EDM VTEC CRX cluster though. What all is needed to use the '90 junkyard harness?

Honda Automotive Parts wants $452 for a new one, that's too much.

As far as the VT cluster goes....find a 90-91 usdm Si cluster, and take out the 3 main gauges from the screws behind (tach, speedo, fuel/temp)
Do the same with the edm cluster and swap housings. The wire print panel on the back is what is different, after swapping the gauges (15 mins work), the cluster will be plug and play. I love mine

What about the 88 connector being different? Does that even matter? Or are both being replaced?

^^ Its a matter of matching the color of the wires in your case.

I had an 89 HF and try using the 90 Si harness and the only difference I found out was that the 90 SI did not come with the 2 pin fan switch (the one near the oil filter). The 90 Si harness also had a extra plug that goes behind the intake manifold for an extra sensor (don't really know what sensor it was for).
