MIC Announces USSB Championship Series

Top level US motorcycle road racing to go the way of CHAMP CAR/IRL? I'm not a fan of the DMG's format for 09, so I'm happy to see this but at the same time worried. Worried that the lack of a unified Superbike series will do nothing but hurt the sport, especially with the shape of our nations current economy.
Discuss.

Not sure about this, from what we heard from the manufactures (honda mostly) they didn't want to start another series. I wsn't interested in seeing what the DMG was going to offer and I'm not sure if I want to see the status quo remain with the USSB. I seriously doubt their going to get any TV or coverage. I hope the 600 class isn't a hangout for riders who should be in superbike (Ben Bostrom, the Haydens, Zemke, et all) to cherrypick championships and race wins. It stagnets development of the new riders and keeps guys who deserve a shot on a factory ride on the bucks down shop teams. Instead we see the same guys bouncing from one factory ride to next even if they haven't been running up front.
We see that the manufactures walk away away from superbike (kawi, yamaha) and I'm not convinvced it hurt their sales. We watch honda walk away from HRC citing cost and for the last three or four years Honda is lucky to get 3rd place. Back in 04 Zemke and Duhamel won races and got on the box. The last three years have been nothing but suzuki and the big four is trying to say its important to their sales to race superbike? Bike comparos in mags are probably more important, does anybody buy a bike becuase it was the same bike that won a championship? Please. If I was in charge I would have given some money to a shop team (graves attack) and paid them to run superbike.
Until these things happen change I see the superbike racing in this country as nothing more than expensive, but chessy advertising that nobody pays attention to. I would like to see good racing on good bikes, but getting their seems to be a problem.
