Default Please help me identify that the right ECU is in my car **PICS**

1992 CX w/ D15b vtec

I searched for about 30 min before posting

I bought the car last week and its have a few small problems so I want to make sure its the right ecu for the right application. There are two wires changed at the ECU, both orange, on with silver on it, and one with blue (i think). I dont know much more than that without looking. The ECU has NO sticker on the outside. I opened it up and again found no markings to indicate what it was, based on the connector set up, it is an OBD1. I snapped a couple pictures:

It is a P05 ecu that I need right? Is there a better choice for a 92 CX w/ a D15B?

The ecu you have shown in the picture is a "chipped" OBD1 VTEC ecu. I cannot tell what model it is but if I had to guess I would say its probably a P75 with a vtec conversion. That ecu should work fine with your setup as long as the "chip" that was put in there has the correct program on it for your engine.

I was going to ask something about it being chipped or not because i found out today it will not go past 3500 rpms when the clutch is in.. it just bounces there. Is there anything else you can tell me about it by the pictures? How can you tell that its chipped and vtec? I'm sure that you know which chip it is, but I dont?

Keeps the engine at a predetermined rev limit while the clutch is in.

CLOSE!!

it work with your vss, your ecu read the singal wire coming from the vss when it see its not moving at a dead stop or under like 5 mph it wnt rev past a certin rpm u set till your car starts rolling then l/c will disengage.

is your ecu showing any codes?cause if it is that 3500 rev limiter could be limp mode.

No, the CEL is not on. I did make sure it works by turning the key on to on and made sure it came on briefly.. which it did
