A/C Heat issue?
How much heat should be coming through the vents from the engine when the heat is off?
I just purchased my first car which is a Civic DX light-blue 4-door sedan. While driving I notice that heat is blowing out of the vents even though I have the dial at off and recycled air is also not lit.
Today it got REALLY warm while driving on the highway; so much that I looked to see if the heat was on, but it was not. It was blowing so much it was like I had it set to the second or third notch. In fact it gets so warm in the car I had to turn on A/C.
This is starting to worry me as I don't think this is normal and it seems to be getting more noticeable. The temp gauge is always halfway full after driving for 10 minutes, so it does not seem to be overheating. What could be the problem. I don't want to start complaining to the dealer and sounding paranoid, so I'd thought I'd ask around first.

yeah, these models tend to do that. I noticed this the 2nd day I bought mine. I just keep the temp. gage on blue and the vent button to the bottom (arrow pointed to feet). My sun / moon roof helps too, I usually have it on tilt.
If anyone does know if this is a manufactures problem, please chime in.
oh yeah, welcome.

well i can tell you that i hate it. the manufacturer should think next time on making a smaller dash because it retains to much heat and thats what your feeling, not that heat is coming out of your vents. it sucks lol
