CB550 Master cylinder problem
Bike sat for 5-10 years and now the brakes don't work at all, the master cylinder won't pump any fluid, even when it's not connected to the pads. If you look in the resevoir there are two holes, the one closest to the brake line doesn't go all the way through. That doesn't seem right... could it be something to do with that? If not, I need a step by step on priming one of these puppies.

Can the slave cylinder on the brake caliper move with some force applied (clamps)? If not, I suggest you first free it, this will require removing the caliper. Make sure all of the banjo bolt holes are free of crud, and that there isn't a kink in the old brake lines. I've never replaced an old line, the rubber is usually pretty resistant to cracking and deteriorating. Try to use compressed air and a needle to pick at stuff in small holes in the resevoir. I actually used some carb cleaner to blow out some of the crap tha collects in there, it helps a lot. Just keep working it and sooner or later it'll give.
Once I get the master working, the slave will be no problem. There is no hole in the bottom of the hole closest to the brake line. Anyone know what size the hole should be? I'm going to try to find a micro drill bit set and drill it
I to had the same problem. I let the master cylinder soak in pb blaster and after a day all the gunk was out. I also used a tiny allen wrench and stuck it on both holes and pumped and the gunk slowly let loose. I suggest putting cleaner in your master cylinder and pumping it.
