Default gauge overlays question

Heres the situation.
I'm replacing my 99 civic ex with b 16, can I buy si gauge overlays and place em on my ex cluster...I want this cause then the tach gauge would read a higher reline..would it work tho..anybody done this before?
Thanks in advance!

It seems like you're asking a question about two different things, but maybe I'm just reading your post wrong.

You could swap the EM1 cluster over into your '96-'00 Civic and it's Plug-n-Play.

You could also swap over the gauge overlay onto your '96-'00 Civic, but I believe that it's just an overlay - it doesn't change the redline (only an EM1 cluster differs from the '96-'00 cluster I think).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just taking a guess here.. but what I said seems somewhat logical.
