Default call me crazy..b20 in an EF?? help!!

ok, here's the situation. i got a b16 last december and had it professionally rebuilt w/ new rings, bearings, head job, all new seals, gaskets, belts, pumps, etc. i installed the motor myself..along with the y1 tranny, hasport mounts, hasport harness & linkage..the whole deal. my car started smoking pretty bad and oil consumption went up dramatically over the 8 months i've been driving the car. currently it's using a quart every 400 miles. took it back to the mechanic who did the rebuild..he's thinking either the oil rings didn't seat or something of that nature..may need to pull the motor and start over with new pistons, etc. i'm thinking that i may just be able to cut my losses and get a b20z longblock, mate it to my Y1 tranny, and pick up a 90-91 LS intake manifold, dizzy, and ECU. is that all i'd need to make it work? what would you guys do in my situation? help!

Yes it will work, and you'll also need injectors too, do it and the torque will be crazy in your EF

yeah, that's how i got all the info i currently have. just wanted to make sure i had everything, it sounds like an easy and cheap swap..i'm just super pissed that my b16 ended up taking a crap on me after i sunk cash into it to have it rebuilt.

I'm thinking i should run the 90-91 LS ECU..any suggestions here? i saw that one guy is using a DX ecu! all advice and help here is appreciated! tia..

true..i just don't have the money to rebuild a block right now like i would need to to run crvtec. so for money sake i will just run the stock b20..maybe vtec in the future. 1,000 = kinda fast w/ lots of torque 5,000 = really really fast.

is a V-AFC a good idea to add more fuel if running all 90-91 electronics?

If you already have a B-motor in your car, going B20 is trivial. When I upgraded from a B18B to a B20Z in my HB, All I needed was the B20Z longblock! One thing, though. You might not want to use a Y1 with a B20. It would make for dangerously (for the motor, that is) high freeway revs.
