Infrared temp shows 180 to 236 F temps on outside of head

Infrared temp shows 180 to 236 F temps on outside of head
Vehicle: 1994, Accord Ex, VTEC, AT
I just used an infrared heat temp gun aimed around the external parts of the head area just below the valve cover. I got 165-175F on the intake side of the head. When I aimed the temp gun at the exhaust side of the head, I got 180-235, especially in the center above the exhaust manifold cover, but it was cooler near the ends, where I was getting results much closer to the intake temps.
Does the 180-230 F external head temp seem normal ?

Your quick, and thanks much !!! This stat thing is really bugging me. Its listed in my recent posts. I posted about 5 related topics but I found that I don't get full complete answers when I ask too many questions on one long post. I suppose this is better this way.... thanks again
