1995 Ex F22b1 5 speed revs out at 4k

1995 Ex F22b1 5 speed revs out at 4k
Its a f22b1 swap from an accord into a prelude, and vtec isnt wired in, could this be my problem?
It drives fine untill about 4k then it revs out on itself and spits and sputters, then when i shift everything is fine, its like it dosent know what to do at 4k +, i would greatly appreciate anything that could be causing this to happen answered.
