Default Sunroof

i have seen the EG guys get their whole Roof replace. and i wanna replace my Integra Roof to make it not have a sun roof, instead of getting a carbon delete or some thing like that done just to be added on. what would u recommened? cause my car is about to get the ITR front and Paint soon. LMk i did a search but all i found were leaky sunroofs and sunroof deletes.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to get rid of the sunroof?

The sunroof is a lot of weight in the worst possible place. That weight is at the highest point above the roll center and thus contributes more to load transfer during cornering/accelerating/decelerating than if that weight was elsewhere (or gone altogether).

A great example of this: If you hold a shovel straight up by the tip of the handle, it's not very stable and easy to maneuver. If you hold it halfway up the handle, it's now way more stable and way easier to maneuver.

ahhhh... gotcha, that was gonna be my guess, but I wouldn't have thought about the shovel example.

You want the roof skin from an Integra RS, or a Type-R (probably more money for no benefit).

Leave the existing support structure, while removing the glass, rails, and motor (and maybe wires if you feel like it). The skin is only spot welded in. You'll need to paint afterwards, even if you get a skin of the correct color, since you'll have to have it welded.

Thats not really a good example. It would be more accurate to say hold the shovel straight up by the handle with a 10 pound scoop on the other end, and then do the same with one with a 5 pound scoop. Cause with this car, you are not change the point of stability, you are just making the top lighter. But either way this is still not a good example considering you are holding the shovel heavy end up. A teg with a sunroof, well the base of the car is still like 20 times heavier then the roof so the effect is not that bad. Put a sunroof teg on a track vs. a non sunroof teg with the same power, and it will still be a drivers race.

If it were me and i really wanted a car with no sunroof, then i'd sell and just buy and rs.

well i just finish my wire tuck on my LS and, then i got an offer to buy a white RS, but i dont wanna do the work and redo a wire tuck on that integra, plus White integra in Colorado are real real hard to come by, but i like ur idea and may just patch up the sunroof, plus i am painting the whole car anyways with a ITR front conv. and i might as well finish the car instead of redoing another RS teg
