I recently bought a '96 accord lx 5 speed. Im wondering what kind of DIY or store bought performance mods i could do that would be the most bang for my buck. Im looking more for low end power... Also i think its a f22b2 engine if taht helps? other than that im new to all this and dunno what im doing

 

First I would make sure everything on the car is in tip top shape. Afterwards, get an Exhaust, Header, CAI (Cold Air Intake), if your money is right and you can shell out 1500-2000 just swap out the motor for an H22. If you decide to go that route then worry about upgrades after.

 

Before you think about engine mods you should look at making sure you have a good solid chassis, suspension and brakes. Not much good having a modded engine if your family sedan can't handle it.

Read all the FAQ's pertaining to your Generation Accord. You have a 5th Gen CD with a SOHC Non VTEC F22B2.

 

well i dont have the kind of money or know how for an engine swap....but i guess ill just get a CAI fisrt... thanks
