1990 accord lx with h22a1 tach/vtech proublem
when driving the factory tach beggins to jump around at about 3g and continues to do so until vtec is engaged about 4500rpm. Then car will bog or completly die.If it dies it will not restart unless the key is turned off and then back on.I recantly replaced main relay do to not starting on hot days.Any ideas.

Here's an idea. Pop your hood, look at your motor. You'll see it's spelled V-TEC not VTECH.
Secondly, do you notice your temperature gauge rise to H (as in Hot) when it starts to die and stall?
When you turn on the car again do you hear anything weird, smell gas, etc?
Try to be more descriptive on stuff that's going on when you encounter problems. It'll get you a faster response thus helping you fix the problem in a timely manner.

The temp gage does not go to hot.I do have a small coolant leak but I keep it full. no other lights or gages are out of spec either. Today when driving it would not die but it would bog , miss and backfire it almost seamed as though it was hitting the rev limiter. Sometimes the vtec does not even engage.
