Default Best Affordable Carbon Fiber?

In your opinion, what's the best carbon fiber you have seen for a reasonable price? I'm talking around 500$ a hood. A few brands I've been looking at were Seibon, ViS Racing, and JDMShit! and I really dont know who to go with.
Composite Fabs was making hoods for a while but I think he turned out to be a scammer? Seemed like his hoods were too good to be true. Vacuum infused, nice clear coat.

I'm looking for something with a nice JDM-ish weave, not much resin.. aka LIGHTweight (vacuum infused would be awesome), good clear coat, and a nice latch setup so I dont have to use pins.

Feel free to post pics!!!

carbon composites or composites fab is a no no. they scam ya from what i read on here.

i like seibon over vis, but everyone on here is going to give you mixed reviews on both seibon and vis.

Oh okay, well I appreciate the response. As far as the make of the hoods, how do they compare? Is one more towards appearance and one made more for performance? Specs? I thought I remember ViS being touted as heavier than most performance hoods a while back

I got a hood from RaceOnUSA two years ago and it still looks great. It has a defect in the weave in a spot, so I got it cheap. It fits great though Anything from them that I have seen is great quality. The hood weighs 14 pounds, btw. I'm not sure how heavy that is compared to other brands.

My VIS had/has imperfections. My Seibon is perfect, no flows.

VIS and Seibon are rumored to sell the same hoods made by the same manufacturer.

I have a Seibon hood, Seibon lip, VIS trunk, and my buddy has a Seibon hood and VIS lip. All 5 pieces fit like ****.

You will never get perfect carbon fiber, if you do it's a fluke. The pieces never fit right and no matter what brand you use, they will not waranty a hood unless you use hood pins.

A few years back there was a big difference in CF. Now it's all the same crap. Seibon and VIS are the exact same IMO. Hope that helps...

my local race shop goes with ViS hoods only, and the way I see it I'd rather order the hood through them and guarantee a non-damaged product than ship a Seibon straight to my front door.

But damn.. I want a product that fits!

OP, just remember what I said...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by A’s 94 GSR &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">...but everyone on here is going to give you mixed reviews on
both seibon and vis.</TD></TR></TABLE>

So everyone is going to say either "vis &gt; seibon" or "seibon &gt; vis". Do a search and tell me how many people say "seibon &gt; vis".

Also, no carbon fiber piece is going to be a perfect fit because carbon fiber shrinks during the process, so therefore, everything will be off. There will be a difference though in how much a shrink actually occurs.

I'm no rocket scientists on carbon fiber or anything, but I did do research before I bought my cf hood.
