It shuts off when you put it in gear because the kickstand is down.
If the kickstand is not actually down, then it is possibly the kickstand switch sensor that thinks the kickstand is down.
Someone tied down your motorcycle incorrectly.
Spell correctly (***** off ?!?).

Decent deal for that F4. I'm a little skeptical about the front fender being lost. Who loses those?
And I'm willing to bet that you didn't test ride the thing. Listen to Marm, he'll steer you in the right direction.

Or rather, counter-steer.
Title issue?! WTF?

Yea 2 years ago for the F4i and 3 for the RC51, last model years were 2007 and 2006 respectively.
I bet the owner lost the front fender due to trying to get it painted. F4i tail + F4i side fairings, with a F4 upper (painted white), I'm sure he was going to paint the fender white as well.

I want to get a decent 600cc bike...I realized the F4i wouldn't be bad of a choice.
Is this bike recommended for novice riders? I just hate the SV650 bandwagon..not bashing on the bike..I just want something different.

u think ud be different rollin on a f4 or f4i? lots of people on here have or love the sv but i guarantee you'll see more f4 on the street. if you want really different go sumo, old school japanese bikes, or something along the lines of aprilia/bimota/mv agusta.

Well nothing major yet....I plan on getting most likely a japanese bike to start out.
The F4i in particular...but then again....The SV650 wouldn't be a bad bike.
I guess I just want a bike that I can become familiar with and still live through the next day.
I know it will be like learning all the skills on a 125cc bike all over again...in your opinions....F4i or the Sv650?

Well the sv650 is a very versitile bike, people who want a good bike to learn on. People who want a new age street fighter or people who want to race a unique 40 cubic inch v-twin in a light chassis. Its really a great platform for anything, and thats coming from a Honda fanatic. Every single vehicle I own or owned has been Honda, and I still wouldnt mind an sv650. The F4i is not entirely another beast, but is more so than the sv as its a "race replica" (at least I would consider it to be as it competes with the other 600's of its day very easily) but with streetability in mind.
When it comes down to it there are 3 bikes I would recommend to any new rider.
1. DRZ400SM
2. SV650
3. F4i/4/3/2 (yes I count them as one as theyre the same "series"
).
Each of these bikes has something to offer even an experienced rider but is friendly enough for a beginner.

So either way, the sv650 or the F4i is suitable for the novice rider.
I guess I can't go wrong either way...I just want to avoid being like my friends.

Yea, you really cant go wrong either way. And dont worry about having the same bike as somebody. These are MASS PRODUCTION motorcycles....besides, you can always mod it.

Modding isn't the issue, really.
I guess it's more of the fact if I can ever find a completely stock F4i...since those are discontinued.
The Sv650 is sold new/used...so there's no problemo there.
What bikes do you have?

I have a broken F4i. Previous owner stripped the threads and 1,500 miles later, BAM! spark plug shot out. Since then, no spark. Its been a headache for over a year but I'm getting motivated to try one more time before I part it out.
I also have a Superhawk that I'm selling because I'm looking to get into supermoto. The Superhawk is great around town but doesnt get the best gas mileage/range. I think i'm done with streetbikes, I dont need to go 140+ anymore and would like to embarass some sportbikes with a dirtbike.
Supermoto is going to be the first time I step out of the Honda neighborhood, I'm looking into the KTM 530 EXC as of now.
