ek amber clock help
i bought an ek amber clock last month, installed it, lights up an everythin but doesnt keep the time once i turn the car off. i spliced it in2 the radio harness like a couple forums said. i have the right wires going 2 the right place so thats not an issue, an i hav no blown fuse. any help would be greatly appreciated(setting the time everytime i drive is starting 2 **** me off). i guess my real question is should i tap in2 the climate control or somewhere else, an if i tap in2 somewhere else w/ color wires go with which?
there is three wires for the clock correct?
one battery (hot all the time)
one ignition
one ground
i think you dont have a battery wire hooked up

I have the chart in there how I set mine up. Mine works perfectly, though mine is not affected by the dimmer (no need).
He made that thread too, so I suppose he wired it that way. Which means there's something else wrong.

you should be fine getting everything from the radio harness. the harness pictured in the link seems to be missing a wire. red/black goes to ill. this wire should be in you radio harness as well. the black is probably ground. the yellow wire and the wire where the missing pin is, are going to be power wires. one will be switched to turn the clock on with the key and the other hot to keep its memory. how is yours wired?
i have:
CLOCK ------------------ RADIO
battery: white/blue----------yellow
ignition: yellow---------------red/red & black
dimmer: red & black---------orange
ground: black------------------black

the thing is i plugged the clock in an i set the time, an i turned the car off an waited 5 mins. an turned the ign. on an it kept time, but once i plugged my deck(cd player) in it would keep time.

If the colors are different, yes.

Your problem might not be the same if your clock is stock. The clocks we're talking about have to be wired in since US cars never came with them and there is no plug on our car for them.
