painting polyurethane lip tips?? NOOB here
i tried searching but couldnt find a straight answer. this will be the first time i have ever painted something so if someone can give me helpful instructions or tips that would be great. I also hear that i need to use a special kind of primer that flexes so i wont get wrinkles on my lip? i have no idea how to start out. my friend told me to sand(what grit?), primer, paint, and clearcoat?

buy some scotch brite scuff pads scuff it down clean all the wax and grease off it.
primer it if all you have is spray can primer itll work.
then wet sand the primer with 1500 wet sand or 600 i prefer 1500 gets really smooth.
then apply 3 coats of paint dont try to make the paint shine thats what the clear is for.
good luck

use a 1.3 tip for base coat and clear coat. I believe what your friend is saying use something call Flex Agent (not sure if thats the real name but if you go to a paint shop they'll understand what you mean). Simple follow the rules when adding flex agent to your paint.
This is how I paint lip especially new one that you just got and the plastic is shiny
Wet sand with 600 grid get it good. then use scotch pad with soapy water wash it down.
Primer it. just remember primer is thick so its there to cover tiny scratches and imperfection. then wet sand it with anything higher then 600 grid.
then follow the instruction on your paint ie mixing ratio, flash time etc. same thing for the clear coat
