Do you care what kind of bike you get?

I'm sure you can find a cheap old honda CB or yamaha for dirt cheap around blacksburg. I know a guy who just picked up a clean CB for $100 because it didn't run. Runs like a champ after the carb clean... Check craigslist daily, maybe throw a post on the tech car club forums and shoot an email out on the Motorcycle club listserv. PM me if you need links

Does it have to be a sportbike? I'd love to see an electric dirtbike or another electric supermoto. Enough space in the frame + light weight. And you wont need the relatively heavy and heavily braced chassis of a sportbike because you wont see the speeds theyre used to. 2 stroke dirtbikes can be had for cheap (commonly around $1,000-$2,000) because they often need a rebuild. And you wont have to worry about crash damage.
