Default 94 Accord Help PLEASE!

My uncle works at a garage and has just got in a 94 Honda Accord with 177,000 miles on it. Im 19 and dont have a lot of experience with cars or anything but he says its a car that has been treated beautifully and still runs great. My question is, is it a good deal if he is selling the car for 2 grand as is? or is this a waste of money, im not sure how many miles it can handle so have turned to this forum to get some opinions or answers. Any help is very appreciated. Thanks a lot..

Greg

its not a bad deal but its not a steal go to http://www.recycler.com or http://www.craigslist.org and compare other similar accords withe similar miles and price how good of a deal your getting. In my opinion any used older Honda and Toyota make great used cars around 200,000 miles your pushing it the lower the better but you get what you pay for. When comes to this older cars, people usually sell these cars because they want to get rid of a problem but if this is your first car this car make a great car to learn how to work on cars. Also if your considering maybe fixing up your car and having some safe and legal fun this is probably not the best car, reason being there is not a lot of after parts out there as you can tell the accord forum is not the most active. This is not to say I have some clean and well done accord out there it could be done but its a lot harder and more expensive plus they are heavy. If you are going to go this route your better off with a civic or integra there are tons of part out there new and used and you probably can get a civic cheaper then the accord oh yeah civic are a little easier to work on and part a little cheaper and if you got to the junk yard there are more civic than accords. Good luck and have fun be careful of abused Hondas and Acuras out there this is where it can get tricky to play it safe your better off with a stock civic with lower miles at a higher price it will be more reliable don't for get what it comes down to is what you are going to use the car for if you need something super reliable be careful of what you get and how you fix it up good luck agian and let me know if you have anymore questions.

Well currently I have a 94 accord 2dr EX with 200,000 miles + and it suns like a champ!!! 2,000$ is not a bad deal at all. Check KBB.com and you will see it prolly goes for high 3 if not 4000. I would buy it, plus its a HONDA!! best thing ever...

the car can take 200,000 miles easy. you can go to kbb.com to find out if it's a good price. if you want handling and speed, which i think you do since your 19. you should get a civic, its a lot lighter so it doesnt take much to make it handle better and run 1/4 fast. im also young and wish i went for a civic instead or my accord, but i grew to love it.

my last car was a '94 accord ex which i picked up for about $3,500. I have no complaints for the accord, IMO $2k is not a bad deal at all as long as it's in the condition that is described.
