Help with removing Z6 head off block!!
I disconnected all the plugs and harnesses, headers, and unbolted the 10 huge bolts. I thought after this the head would just come off easy....
Now I was trying to unbolt the intake mani but I can't get one of the nuts off. ( Engine is still in car)
What a crap rainy Sunday! How do I take this thing off?
In the mean time I'm gonna go take apart the MK2 1.8 motor I have on my engine stand.

On my old y7 there was a brace under the intake manifold that held it to the block. Check that out. Otherwise I can't think of anything else just all sensors, timing belt, dizzy, header, intake tube. I find it easier to take the intake manifold off still bolted to the head because of that center nut on the bottom side. Well good luck check out to see if you have that bracket.
Here this is the bracket I'm talking about.

part #10.
I don't know if the permatorque gaskets do this but it may still just be sealed on there real well. Give it a tap or two with a good mallet.
