2-3 hp. It's not much but an intake is pretty much manditory in the tuning world.

cold air would give u much more horsepower, aem intake is good just to be on the safe side but some say u actually lose hp of u get a short ram, but who knows

AEM claims a lot more of an increase than 2-3 HP. Especially on the V2 whichs seems to make more power than most CAI that I've seen. Every dyno I have seen shows like close to 10 or even more with an intake...

I live in Oregon and run a CAI just fine. You just can't be stupid and need watch where you are driving, keep an eye on the road. Which you should be doing anyway!

I dunno which is "better" but I love my AEM CAI.

SRI vs CAI

this never ends..

Dude get whatever you want to get. They both do the same thing, allow your motor to breathe better. Both are just mandrel bent tubes fitted to your car. My preference is on an SRI. If you want true "cold air" get a mugen airbox. That's about as close to cold air you're going to get but not worth the money.

I had the Mugen Intake. Not worth it with the USDM front end. It's made to work with the JDM and Mugen bumper.

Anyways, people running a CAI are living on borrowed time. Not worth it for 2 more HP. And there is no way to 'drive smart' at night in a rainstorm, especially on unfamiliar roads.

I agree, and that's a big IF on 2 extra hp gain.

Simple answers to this:

Max HP: CAI
Throttle response: SRI
Safety in all conditions: SRI
Ease of install: SRI
Cheapest Price: SRI
Best looking: SRI
Ease of accessing filter: SRI
HardParking/Street Cred: Who cares

You pick what's most important to you and buy accordingly.

I just ordered the Injen Mega Ram intake. It's a short ram. I purchased this because I didn't want to go through the hassle of taking off my front bumper and putting a new windshield washer reservoir in. All that was a waste to me along with the $70 more dollars it would cost. I'll take a short ram where I can access the filter and install the entire thing in under 30 minutes and save money. So maybe I wont make the 2-3 extra HP that a CAI will give you but I could care less about that at this point. I just want that gaudy stock airbox outta there and hear that VTEC better. Sure, I'm a ricer.

I had both a short ram and a cold air. I preferred the cold air although I always busted a nice sweat when there was a good rain.
