A) Anyone got some tips for identifying the fakes?
Their webpage says "** PLEASE BEWARE OF IMITATION BRIDE SEATS MADE IN SUEDE/ALCANTARA & CLOTH FABRIC. **", anyone have some pics to compare legit vs fake side by side
B) Anyone used both real and fake and want to provide a comparison for me?
C) You opinion, is it worth the significant difference in price to get the real deal or are the fakes worth what you pay for them?

check it out.

I did check that thread out *link below for those interested* but they just said fake based on the fabric, I was hoping there was some official tagging on the real Brides that people could show me.
Also I would like to know if the fakes are worth the money, they seem very similar and /appear/ to be alot better put together than most fake seats

i dont think the real ones come in fiber glass, all the fakes iv seen are a silver painted fiberglass shell, all the real ones iv seen are carbon fiber
i personnaly whouldnt buy a knockoff seat, somthing that could protect me in a car wreck, you dont no how the seat will behave in a wreck, there not tested, how do you know that the seat wont come detached from the rails, or somthing like that
real seats are fia rated, and crash tested, that gives me great peace of mind
but hey its you and your car

yeah I know the legit ones are FIA tested and approved and the fake ones are not, but that can be said for alot of real name brand seats, FIA testing is expensive.
So I'm not going to rule out the fakes on that principle alone, I'd love to hear from someone who has had the fakes whether they hate them or love them, I would especially love to hear from anyone who has tried both the fake and real.

i have real bride gias, you can tell the fake ones by a couple things.
bride gias come with a sparkley silver backing, kevlar or andromeda. someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i've never seen them come with black backs and carbon fiber backs. IF they do, i would guess the SPORT model does, but i'm not sure if the SPORT model comes with a black back or not. i know the fake ones come with a black back.
also the gradation, on the fake ones, the print isn't really fading. the blocks will be light, dark, light, dark, darker, darker.
is it worth it? will, a gias is a 1500 seat. i can't say everyone has 3k to spend for a set of seats.

ah men to that, it's just scary to see how these things react in an accident.
Then again, odds are that you have an aftermarket steering wheel and only a passenger air bag if you buy seats like these.
out look not so good.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the "fake" bride actually made by the same company and just imported through a different distributor? I remember reading about this a few months ago and I was under the impression it's the same seat just a lot cheaper.

good info, that's what I was looking for, I never noticed the true fade compared to the fake fade on the lettering.

I beleive you are close, Bride in Japan used a Canadian company to market their seats but they didn't correctly tradmark the brand, so the same Canadian company trademarked the brand and now allow it to be used by a different company making similar seats. Long story short, NOT the same company.

I don't know the diff between the real and fake, but I honestly think the GIAS are one the best looking seats on the market right now. I think their grossly overpriced, but still the best looking.

I think those are perfect bolsters. Atleast that's all I need in a daily driver. Those huge bolsters are ridiculous for a daily driver, annoying as fok in a car you have to get out of and sit in everyday.
