Default Brakes vibration at highway speeds (when on the brakes)

When im going say 70mph and have to slow down quickly due to someone cutting me off, I get a vibration though the brake pedal. I have brembo slotted, akebono ceramic pads and new OEM calipers, and fresh fluid. Is it just because they are small Civic brakes? Im thinking of going to Wilwood 11 inch bbk eventually.

Sounds like a bad rotor to me...

Did you burn them in correctly?

I second that, reminds me that mine are due for replacement.

Funny that this is posted - same happened to me.

Happened once when I had to brake for a turn / split in the highway - but I haven't felt it around town or on any off ramps or anything...or I would jump right to rotor..

Though it's a VIGOROUS shake...like ur holding onto a lawn mower O.o.

I followed all directions on the rotors and pads when i got them. But I do feel some un evenness when im coming to a stop just like at a light or something so I think un even pad deposits could be the problem. I still feel like my brakes are weak. Time for a new MC and lines.

probablly warped the rotor when you get the brakes hot and then cool them off quick they will warp and you will get a vibration when you brake

I taken care not to get water on them when theyre hot. I thought most brake "warp" was actually pad deposits.

Did they do this from new ? if so, did you clean al the rust from behind them before you installed the new rotors. are these the dreaded zinc plated crap ? I've got some horrific photos of what happens when the plating bunches up under the pads.

No they were fine when new. As far as I know they arent plated. Ill pull the pads off and check though.

Before you jump right to new MC and some SS brake lines...how long did you let the pads seat for?

I had the same problem - turned out to be a sticky caliper that eventually seized. New one installed, now no vibration when braking.

Default You've got warped rotors....

You are 95% likely to have warped brake rotors. You've given an absolutely perfect description of slightly to moderately warped rotors, that's how they feel, that's how to describe it.

Take them off and have them resurfaced. Pep Boys and Kragen in my area do them for $10 each. Use them lightly for the first hundred miles, your problem will disappear.

Just wondering, did you install ceramic pads, they're **** for warping rotors, use semi-metalic.

You've crystallized my thought exactly - was going to say that, actually - but I got lazy!
