98 accord gas pedal jerk
Hello,
my 98 accord v6 has got a problem recently. when i press or let off the gas pedal too hard or too quickly, there is a jerk. this happens more often when it is hot outside.
i suspect it is transmission problem. however the dealer said it is not. they suggested me to change the engine mounts (two of them) since they think this may be the real cause.
i just dont feel like spending several hundreds bucks and finally find out it IS a transmission problem.
any inputs are appreciated.

replies sound right if you do not want to spend much money go buy some cheep one I don't know how long they will last you you get what you pay for or if you work on your own car get some Urethane glue the one they fill in when they mount windshields and fill in the probably broken mounts to see it will go away or try to use a jack to support the engine from jerking and while in park see if the you can get the jerking to stop good luck you best bet is to spend the money and get it done right you can look at the mounts yourself to see what condition they are in.

These are not plain rubber mounts. They are fluid filled mounts (the front mount is even vacuum actuated) to absorb vibration from the engine and road. There is no way to "fix" the mount and have it work as good as it did new.

I feel like a advertiser. Anyway check there to see if you can order the mounts for less. Theres always a junkyard but you run the chance of those being defective too. Good luck.
