Default Rear seat release

I actually have a 1990 Honda Civic Si Hatchback but I can't imagine the rear seat release lever has changed much in newer models... At any rate, somehow the release one of my seats came unscrewed from the pull in the seat, and it won't screw back on -- I believe because it's too far down in the seat. As a result, I cannot put the seat forward. Has this happened to anyone, and if so, has anyone figured out a way to get the release lever back onto the pull? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Here's some diagrams. Tell us which part you mean.

I think you mean 1 from the first diagram, but I'm not sure.

I've never heard of this problem thogh.

Yes, part #1 has unscrewed from I guess is the top of part #15, which is used to open the latch. It must be spring-loaded or something, because once it came off, it was not high enough in the shaft to screw back on. The upholstery on the back of the seat is sealed on somehow, and I can't figure out how to get it off so I can see if there's another way to release the seat.

PS: Thanks for the diagrams. Very helpful!
