When you say the starter is good, do you mean the engine is turning over normally and nothing from there, or is there literally nothing happening.

what do you mean nothing? when you just turn it on does it make a click sound? or multiple clickin? does it sound like its going on like you know that *eeeh *eeh *eeh sound like its not getting enough gas?

lets get real specific.

when i say nothing i mean nothing, at all. well from the driver seat. under the hood you can hear the fuel pump but just one click, that's it. oh and my negative terminal sucks, so i'll change that out.

check the clutch switch. It may "think" you're not pressing in the clutch.

Hmmm.... I din't know they put fuel pumps under the hood now... That's not the fuel pump you hear, it will make a buzzing sound coming from the back seat, the main relay clicks, but it should be a few times. You need to know if you're getting fuel, and/or spark. Then it will be easier to pinpoint your problem, thus being easier to fix without spending loads of money on parts you don't need.

it could just be your battery if its just a click you hear. does your radio work ? head lights? electrical equipment?

try getting a jump start from another car.

because i remember when my car would just make a simple click sound. headlights turn on, stereo works but in order to turn it on i needed a jump. that narrowed down my problems.

no that isn't it, it won't start like that. it does, however, roll start.

you didn't know that, damn. you need to do some reading, lol jk jk

no i mean i hear a click under the hood and the fuel pump does click(and yes from the back seat, which isn't there)

um i don't think that is it either i disconnected the wires and ran one wire to connect them and still nothing

I'm going to my friends house tomorrow to hopefully solve this damned problem but i do need all the help i can get. I am pretty much a n00b, I'v only had this car a little over a month.

I ran into this problem a couple of days ago. I didn't know what the switch was for and I accidently hit it and my car wouldn't start.

I actually had a switch that would overheat and short in and out every now and then. I had to mcgyver it on the side of the road one day with a pepsi can tab and my keys.

A switch inside the car that disables either the fuel pump from working or cutting power to the car. You should check your fuses and relays btw.

ok, so problem solved, and it only took ten bucks and about fifteen minutes to fix. So my starter wasn't getting power. All i did was run a little 16 gauge wire to the battery(it's in the trunk), and ran it through my car to the starter, and about halfway down the wire i cut it and got me a push button star thing, it still isn't mounted but the damn thing works

you shouldn't need a 16 gauge wire thingy to even start the car in the first place. that means something that was supposed to work normally didn't work.

Huh?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by MrViet &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">you shouldn't need a 16 gauge wire thingy to even start the car in the first place. that means something that was supposed to work normally didn't work.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Ok, you totally lost me. It was actually a 14 gauge wire, btw. even though i know what I said earlier. Obviously something that was supposed to work didn't work, I had wiring issues. So instead of spending alot of time trying to figure out where the problem is i found a, imo, better solution. And pretty soon I'm getting an S2K push button and when I do that I'm going to mount it right and make it look good and whatever.
