Default Bad Throttle Response

My 97 Civic EX Coupe has horrible throttle response. When I hit the gas, or even tap the pedal it takes about 1-2 seconds before the engine responds. So if I go to rev the engine for example I can hit the gas for a second and take my foot off of it before the engine even starts to rev, then a second or so later it will rev. Any idea what this would be? My friends told me it could be the injectors (I already put in Techron and STP Cleaner, so unless they are going bad...), or the fuel filter (not sure where that is on this model). So I figured I would just throw it out there and see what input i get.

Try BG 44k. It is probably the best fuel system treatment I've used. My 95 sol used to hesitate when I hit the gas, so I decide to try the product after hearing good things about it.

It wasn't cheap and your local discount auto parts store won't carry it. I know you can get it at Honda dealerships, Napa auto parts stores and a select few other places.

I rountinely used the discount store stuff (Lucas etc.) every time I change my oil and the problem continued. That was the reason why I started asking if there was anything better on the market.

Granted, $25 is a bit steep, but I thought that if I tried it and didn't notice a difference, I wouldn't use it again. Now that I've gotten good results, I'll definitely used it in the future. If memory serves, the can suggests that you use it every 30K miles or so, which would be about once every year or two (15K per year avg).

Most people also report a increase in gas mileage. I noticed better mileage, but I also started checking tire pressure and keeping my air filter cleaner than I've done in the past.
