b18c pings

i just put a b18c into my crx and it pings always hot or cold. mainly when half throttle i checked timing and its fine.. and the motor has not seen any other fuel other then premium (91).. any ideas??

Maybe it needs a valve adjustment?

i was thinking that but the head is like brand new rebuilt from a shop with a ported head.. it has new valves, springs, and retainers.
