Comptech swaybar always shifting to one side.
I have recently installed a Comptech rear bar on my 98 DX hatch and it always ends up shifting an inch or so to the passenger side of the car. I race autocross a lot but haven't since installing the bar. Comptech said it is normall for the bar to move around. Do you think I should worry about it. I think the main problem is that I have Suspension Technique springs and they are sagging pretty bad on the drivers side. I want to get a good set of true coilovers this winter which may fix both problems. What do you guys think?
Thanks
Thanks
We put some hose clamps on my buddies competch bar. a lot of people have this problem, but it isn't too much to worry about.
My buddies bar was hitting his exhaust, so a fix was needed.

All I see at that link are a bunch of people who are buying race car parts for street cars. Heim joints / spherical bearings don't belong on street cars.

"thanks very much for the info...i'll have to remember that one...i hate having to replace parts especially ones that cost $400!!! **** that ****!!! i can get spoon sway bars (top only) for the front and rear for cheaper than $400....and it doesn't have to be replaced every 1-2 years.... "

I have the comptech rear sway/tie combo on my 99GSR and I love it, and have not (yet) had any problems with the endlinks or with the bar shifting from right to left(there are ties on the bar right next to the mount locations to prevent this), so good so far, I hope no probs arise, but I keep an eye on things fairly often. Enjoy

lol, ease up Johnny
I agree though. The only time I drive my civic anymore is to literally drive the crap out of it. It either goes to the track or from the track, no in between anymore really. I have not had one ouce of problems w/ my Comptech bar. It "ownz" so to speak

i purchased a set of the Comptech lower sways for my CL-S about two weeks ago. They came with these plastic locking clamps that were supposed to be squeezed on to the acutal sways on the outside of both bushings. The instructions say it prevent the sways from moving side to side.
Since the install I haven't had a chance to check the sways, but I haven't heard the sways bang against anything...even after a weekend of Auto-x-ing.
