Default faulty monkey bars??

hey guys i wanna know if anyone has ever been in an accident with "Monkey bars" roll cage??? as some of you know the story already so i dont feel like going throught it, but they buckled bad...it was installed CORRECTLY 100% (i know this because the guy wo had installed them all he does is roll cages)...i just want to know if anyone else has has this experience or simular ones with monkey bars....i would take pics but you can barely see anything on the inside of the car but bent bars....and yes it was a "pretty" serious accident and i was pretty badly hurt but as we rolled i just remember watching the hoop bent like it was silly puddy....thanx for reading and im only making this as a thread because if there is something faulty about them, i wanna make sure there is something done about it

Sounds like you got a show cage and not a roll cage. Your main hoop should be able to withstand the impact of your car being dropped onto its roof.

glad to hear your okay,
i may be wrong about this but i remember "monkey bars" being more of a "show" thing, meaning that they are for looks and not function,

here is and old thread i found,
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=77216

it was a bolt in "monkey bar" cage with slugs to go throught he floor and was welded to the frame...i can say that im 100% on that, but it wasnt a b/s cage they went by rally specs or some ****...yea im ok, broke my tib and fib in my right leg, fib and femur in my left, hairline fracture to my tailbone and i have a second degree fracture to my 2nd vertebra...ill be in a chair for the next 8 weeks...this was about 2 1/2 weeks ago...i just wanna make sure there is no one else that had this problem and was closed to being severly hurt because it may be a re-call or somethin ya know

OMGWTF- we rolled end over end not side to side...i think it broke the welds on the frame where the slugs were but the bars still shouldnt have buckled
EDIT- the worst part is that it was my boys car(just finished it) and he was driving...we got cut off by a drunk driver(who actually stopped and took his DUI) and hit the beginning if the guardrail at about 55(from what we can remember)....i just cant beleieve it just buckled..picture taking a dead log and placing it on an angle on a tree and trying to kick it(like you would break twigs for fire wood)...thats how it folded...inside the bars look like a "W"....idk i hope it was just me and not anyone else

REYES....i wish he would have read that before he got them....iit almost took my life by what their all saying on that thread....i mean i didnt die which means they made a diference so i dont think their just for show(but than again if you weld a tubular hoop in your car it will be some what safer anyway)

hey guys...well because im on everyday since the accident and i post a lot, im starting to be called a "post *****".....most of you know who i am and know that i am not a post ***** i am just very knowledgeable when it comes to certain things...i am getting dogged on and it sucks because im not that guy...this is the thread and for all who knows me and knows what im about, just throw in a goof word and shut these a$$holes up
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2368119

you dont have to stick up for me but they think that im just another person on H-T that justs poss for no reason....the reason for me even posting in the first place is because its one of my close friends and he's been getting "flammed" beyond belief....if you read the post you'll understand why but they shouldnt have involved me as some kind of jerkoff that is just posting for no reason...helpme out fellas this is making me look bad and i dont need that right now considering this is the only forum i go on ALL the time

damn that sucks, ive never had monkey bays but have seen plenty of cars with them and ive always been under the assumption that they are mainly a show roll bar. Sort of like a cusco cage.
But im wanting to hear from somebody that has monkey bars in their car.

we werent on a highway...its a road that through the "sticks" to get from one town to another...its just an alternate route instead of takin the highway....its kind of a blind turn with a side street...we were coming around the corner when we saw a truck pull out so we went around him trying to acvoid him(like i said he was drunk but fortunatly he was a good guy and pulled over and helped us and took his dui)...when we went around we went off the road a little bit and hit the beginning of the guardrail...the speed limit was 55 and we werent speeding, but without having the reflexes to break so sudden, their was almost no skid marks....i took the brunt of it all, he had minor injuries and we were bothe wearing out seatbelts
