Need Your $0.02 on Buying S2000 CR
So i just sold my eclipse and now i wanna buy a 2008 s2000 cr. I will be leaving the country for 6 months ....should i buy the s2000 now or should i wait till i get back. Will the CR be cheaper or will it be about the same and just harder to find....
Why are you asking us? Im not trying to sound like a jerk but we don't know whats best for you. Why get it now and let it sit tho? what if you change your mind after 6 months? or what if the price randomly goes up after 6 months?

My insurance went down 80 a month when I got the S2000. I went from a 99 civic Si to a 2000 S2000, nothing changed I had the same coverage... The lady told me the insurance on the S2000 was cheaper Because the car has a better record but this thread isnt about the million threads about what we pay for insurance.

You must be a higher risk driver.
I pay like $55/month for it with really good coverage.

Actually, I'm not paying much myself: $65/mo.
I'm referring to what most other people seem to pay ($200 seems to be average). There's no reason to pay the insurance on a car that is going to sit. The OP said he sold his Eclipse, so not paying to insure an S2000 for six months would probably save him $1200 (average), not to mention saving a few bucks on the purchase.

thanks for the advice guys...i guess i'll be waiting....i have also wondered about just buying an older model and building it up...since i am a former DSM 4g63 driver i do plan on turbocharging the s2k..does anyone have any upgrade paths so i can budget ahead of time so i can decide whether to go with the CR or an older model...

depends when you get back are you going to buy a new one or a used one. New the wont go down in price at all. Used... well it will be just that used, it is a CR. If you autoX it or anything like that its worth every penny, just look at the sport compact mag where the compared all the coilovers for the car and the CR. 4th out of most coilovers not bad at all. If you dont race it... just get a normal s2k lol normal.....
