Ok so i have been using this AEM UEGO for maybe 2 months now and after moving into college it is stuck reading either 14.7 or .8. I know it used to stay at 14.8 when a wire was out so i checked to make sure it was still all plugged in and it was. the car feels like it is driving absolutely fine. So i'm guessing it's a wiring issue. Does anyone know what i should take a look at? Is it a faulty unit? i'm kind of pissed because afr gauges are not cheap.

yup, miller is right. I have gone thru two sensors this year. Last one i only had 10 passes. The sensors are junk. Im gettting a NGK set-up next.

 

i also had this problem it was just the plug for the sencor wasnt pushed in all the way it looked like it was pluged in but it wasnt

 

well i googled it and some ppl say when it's inbetween 14.7/.8 it could be a wiring problem. i guess i should check that out before i got wasting money on a new wideband sensor

 

let us know what you find. Just check the plugs in the back. Only wires you need to check is power.

 

usually when it is stuck, the sensor has died.

unfortunately with overly rich cars and leaded fuel, it shortens the life of the sensor.

 

leaded fuel DESTROYS oxygen sensors. If possible, use unleaded high octane at all times!

Oh, and some AEMs tend to eat sensors for lunch. I've never had sensor issues in the 3 innovate widebands I've owned.

 

i'm using 93 unleaded. does anyone know what sensors can be matched with the aem uego? I heard they were calibrated specifically for the uego. This sucks...i used this thing for two months and now it's fried. i'm still goign to check the pins and hopefully that is my problem.

 

The sensor AEM uses is a Bosch LSU4.2 UEGO sensor. A over the counter part you can pick up at pretty much any dealership or parts store. However the replacement cost at a dealership or parts store might be through the roof. You should however be able to pick up a replacement sensor from an AEM dealer for $69.63.

The other thing is installation. Make sure you install the sensor correctly have used my AEM UEGO for over 2 years now on the same sensor with race gas. Just follow the instructions on how the sensor should be mounted for positioning which I find most people dont even look at it.

i was pretty sure i angled mine in the way it should be...it says like a 10-15 degree angle or w/e in the manual and that's what i did. Maybe i angled it at closer to a 45 degree, but i'm having my downpipe redone regardless so if that is the case i'll make sure they weld it in properly. I measured the pipe and i'm pretty sure i am running past 36" from the turbo also.

You can't pick one up at the part store. it has a built in resistor for the aem unit.

 

so you guys think it is the sensor itself?

 

yea ,buy a new one
