Distributor Problem
scribe a mark across the mounting flange of the distributor and the head so you know exactly where the distributor was before you took it off, remove all 4 plug wires, from the head, not the distrbutor cap, this way literally can not screw up the firing order. remove the 3 bolts holding the distributor to the head, remove the distributor cap, again 3 bolts, turn the distributor untill you can see a screw under the rotor, remove the scew, pull the rotor upward to remove, sometimes they come off hard, with the rotor off you should be able to somewhat see the bearing, see if you can move the distributor shaft from side to side, if you can you have a bad bearing. If the bearing is bad you have 2 choices, if the sensors haven't been chewed up yet from the bearing going bad you can swap in a new shaft bearing and plate in out of another d-series distributor that something else (coil, igniter, sensors) died in. You other option would be to buy a new or remanufactured distributor.
