pin inside tranny
when you pull both axles out, that pin drops so you cant get your axles back in, what is that pin called and how do you get it back up....i searched but i dont know the name of that pin, all i found was shift linkage pin....tia
i did on my d tranny and yes the pin does exist lol, 95 civic with d15b7 and same thing on my friends 91 crx si, same pin, cuz we pulled his tranny the other day cuz we burned up his clutch doin 5th gear burnouts in his garage lol
Ive never dealt with that before...ever.
Ive done work on several different transmissions, all different generations, and not once did I come across it.
d15, d16, b18s, b16...both axles pulled simultaneously on all - no pin.
Weird...

when you pull both axles, there is a pin that falls, so you cant put an axle back in, now if you just do one axle at a time, the other axle holds the pin up and its all good, just dont know exactly how to get that pin up, so i can put axles back in

wow.....maybe i was dreaming of this pin lol....no that is weird because ive never heard of this problem either....but the last two d series i did was like this.....hmmmm
Like I said, Ive pulled both axles, simultaneously, on all the trannies listed...never dealt with a pin.
I do know that other manufacturers have it, but Ive never dealt with it on a Honda.
Hell, Ive taken 4 different transmissions apart, completely, and never saw a pin.
Not saying youre wrong, since you say youve dealt with it twice, I just find it very odd... Are you sure the axles on your buddies car just werent fully seated? And just by looking it appears as if a pin is in the way, because of the differential...?
