Default Speedometer stopped speedometering. :(

Alright just happend to hammer on the old accord and it decided it didnt like it so its telling me its doing "0" now....tachometer-Gas-Temp gauges are still reading perfectly fine and i've got a CEL just want to know for sure if it is my VSS sensor....I'ma Run the codes real quick and find out what they say....but in the meantime this old post i dug up seems just about the ticket.

It's the VSS and it's been posted in like 4000 other threads.

Boingo, if you're not getting a VSS CEL then most likely it's the cluster.

Another sign...if the odometer is still functioning then it points to an issue with one of the two boards within the cluster.

If the speedometer doesn't work the odometer shouldn't be working either. Regardless of the VSS or not.

No Cruise + CEL + No Speedo/Odo = VSS

Cruise + No CEL + No Speedo/Odo = Cluster

Check out the Helms when you get a chance, under Electrical, Speedo/Trip Meter/Odo Troubleshooting...there are situations where the odo still functions while the speedo goes out.

I'd be very curious to see that, I'm sure there's a chance of it happening but in all the cases I've seen and helped with the Odometer doesn't function either.

I actually figured out the issue by guessing rather than using my manual haha.

Make sure if you swap the cluster, notify DMV. I made a thread and people said it was illegal to do so without telling them. Right Muffinman?
