i think it appears to have a curve to it, would have looked nicer with more OCD straight lines.

yeah, is it overlay or a roof replacement?

yeah its just a molding, take off the weather stripings, and lay it over the existing roof. and put your weather strippings back on, and presto!

its just an add on.

Looks like a large weave, where'd you get it from?

My friend did this himself, epoxied it directly to the roof while wet. Ballsy, but turned out very nice.

Has anybody done this where they remove the sheetmetal roof and replaced it? Any pics of the process? And do they have any weight comparison to see how much weight they've dropped off the roof?

I'll be making a carbon/foamcore replacement for my sunroof glass, while retaining the sunroof function.

Props, looks very nice!

A carbon hatch spoiler would compliment it nicely.

even if it was a photoshop, it would be a good one.. look at those shadows on the roof... they fit in awfully nice with the rest of the car, don't you think?

i think someone is a hater....

I'm not being a hater at all. I'm pretty sure he did the following in photoshop -

Cut out the roof, desaturated it, set his CF layer over it, cut it to the roof and set it with a lowish Opacity.

If it was a GOOD photoshop, there would still be colour in the roof. The carbon weave wouldn't be huge either..

Prove me wrong.

the OP of that thread makes these roof caps.
but i didn't get the roof cap from him,. I got the idea and told my friend about it.

So my friend told his brother about it and he got it done for me. I just gave him the money and he bought the supplies.

end of story.

I'm not saying that they don't exist - I know they do.
I'm saying the picture YOUVE posted isn't of your actual roof cap. Because it's a photoshop.

Why does the entire photo have a blue/purple tint except the roof?

Maybe because you've desaturated it in photoshop? then added a layer of CF?

Oh, and for the cats randomly posting links LOL'ing to themselves - NB the size of the weave in the rear-right corner of the roof is larger than the rear-left, the rear-left is closer, therefore should be bigger.

Get some knowledge.
