Sell the swing arm extenders and raise it back to stock. Otherwise nice bike, I've got an '05 myself

oh!, and is it missing parts of the fairing? it looks like there should be a lower fairing but there isnt one on either side? i was thinking about wrapping the exposed header/down pipe in black header wrap.....

lowering it that much and extending the rear kills its ability to turn in corners and personally i hate the way a stretched bike looks but that is up to your riding style and opinion of looks. as far as the bike itself goes, its missing a lower fairing, its got after market paint so it may have been dropped, id say the new paint is either really bad or has been abused more cause there is a red mark on the tank and tail, there is some kind of wire hanging out where the engine is exposed so it just looks in bad shape. plus there is some liquid under the bike which makes me think its leaking something. i say it was a bad deal.

i also just noticed that there is another connector hanging out behind the rear peg and the rear brake line looks too long, it could be rubbing your rear tire.

the red mark on the tank is a reflection of a rear reflector of a bike next to it.
the redmark on the tail is part of a sticker.
the paint job is BAD! i know. but im going to end up with a 14 piece fairing kit off ebay anyway.
i dont think its leaking. i went to the dealer this past saturday, checked it out. and today (same spot) didnt notice anything.
bad deal? really?

Opinion? It disgusts me. I hate chrome, I hate lowered sportbikes, and I hate extended swingarms unless drag racing/very high horsepower is involved.

IMHO get the right tool for the right job. Shoulda bought a cruiser if you wanted to be low and annoyingly shiny.

But if you like it, you like it. Enjoy your purchase and be safe.

swing arm extensions are to move the center of gravity of the bike forward so you don't loop the bike or do extreme wheelies under full throttle when you are drag racing. i would assume the extensions go straight out so the wheel will fit your swing arm without them but because its a wider wheel the bike wont be as nimble into turns but i guess the extra rubber will give it more traction. removing them involves removing the wheel, taking them off, shortening the chain and putting the wheel back on. to raise the front back to stock just loosen the bolts securing the forks, raise the bike with a jack or something and tighten the triples. you may also have lowering links on there, you should find out what the stock lengths are and see otherwise you'll have pre-runner lookin sport bike.

Bad things.
Chrome wheels. Not stock size Stretched swingarm. Lowered bike. You're missing the lowers. The bike has aftermarket pegs. Bar ends were replaced. The bike has been repainted.

My guess is it was dropped prior to your purchase.

NOWWWW... the reason I have a problem with it. For all the reasons people by a 600, the weight, the nimbleness, the flickability, etc etc. IS GONE WITH THE MODS DONE TO YOUR BIKE.

shoulda bought a stock busa if you wanted to go fast, straight.

Congrats on a new bike. I love getting new bikes. Congrats on being happy. Just not my cup'o'tea

Nothing wrong with chrome wheels. I personally find the stock black wheels on sportbikes bland. Painting them white/gold/silver or polishing/chroming makes the bike look much better

But stretching a sportbike for street use is a big

PLEASE let us know what stealership you bought the bike from. For future reference, buying a bike as close to stock as you can is a good idea. This is a fairly good example of a bike that I would not touch. Sorry man, but that's the honest truth.

I didn't even think that a dealer would put something out to sale like that. I mean missing fairings oviously laid down and ebay parts to put together. Still asking what you could get one in a much better shape for with a little shopping around. Guess they was thinking someone would fall for the stretch and bling factor. It was you. Guess thats why they call it the stealership. Hey long as you like it. Have fun on your new bike

Opinion?
You're fired from life.

Ditch the swing arm extenders, they only hurt your performance.
Make it stock height again. No point in lowering it unless you're very vertically challenged.

Find a black lower fairing to finish it off.

You bought a 600, not a turbo charged busa. No point in dragging it out.
At this point, with the chrome, swingarm, lowering, and paint job, you look like you're lost on your way to a rap music video.

a lot of negative feedback on the bike, jeesh.
thats what i get for asking for your opinions but does anyone nhave anything good to say about it?

if i get rid of the extenders, raise it up, get a new fairing kit. am i on the right track? those are my plans.

although i like what was said about the center of gravity moving making it harder for the front to come up on me. i was a little nervous about that....

Trust me, its not that easy to bring the front end up on this bike unless you try. Just be responsible riding it until you get used to the bikes character.
