the jdm scene is tight but how long do you think people will roll with it? it seems like once we find something, we wear it out to death. jdm jdm jdm. i wonder if peeps in japan consider us as posers or wannabes. any opinions?

well the style in japan is different from here but we call a cfh jdm? i've been all over asia and i noticed jdm here is pretty recent in the mainstream.

It will never end. If people can buy a part for thier car that looks better or performs better than what comes factory in the U.S. they will buy it. You know why because its factory, it fits perfact. No crappy aftermarket stuff that doesn't fit. It was "underground" for a long time now it will loose popularity and will be "underground" again.

lemme guess, you're going JDM cuz everyone else is going JDM huh? you're probably one of the guys who was laughing at me and my friends a couple years back saying cf hoods were gay, and laughing at us cuz liked gunmetal/bronze/black rims and stuff like that huh? go JDM cuz you like it, not cuz its a trend, not cuz everyone is doing it

 

You know what, it really doesn't matter how long the "jdm scene" will last, the people that are truly jdm won't care...they are the way they are, because they like it, and not because "joe blow" down the street likes it. my .02 cents.

Japanies ppl dont think we are posers for "upgrading" to their stock. they just think that we are dumb. We modify upto where they start modifing from. We spend mad cash to get what they spend mad cash to become better than. We brag about a Civic that we dropped 25K into only to have a Civic that is STILL inferior to a STOCK Civic in Japan. If you go to Japan you will see crazy high wings, huge fender flairs, and Hondas that acutally do something that no Honda can do. PERFORM! 14s in the 1/2 and a top speed of 130 is not performing in the land of the rising sun. In fact; if you rolled up with a "JDM CIVIC" aka STOCK CIVIC you would be laughed off the track; so to speak. When was the last time you saw pics of the Tokyo Auto Salon with a bunch of stock *** civics with carbon fiber lips. Hell no. You see crazy 400+hp (and those are the weak ones) cars with all kinds of crazy modifications. The whole I am going to purchase a Civic CX and drop 20K into it to make it almost as weak as a stock civic in Japan has got to go. I am all about Japaniese parts. Just not the stock ones.
Or maybe Top Secret or eifiel or Futisubo will stop featuring their normal assortment of 1000+hp cars with 3 inch fender flairs , and HUGE WINGS, that are capible of 10 second 1/4 miles and 200+mph and start going with "clean ***" "JDM Style" 185hp Civic CXs with B16B engines in them that are capaple of 14 second (if your lucky, and you stipped out the interior) passes with a stop speed soaring into the 135 mhp zone. . . . . Or maybe stock in Japan is just as gay as stock in the US. Or maybe we are so WEAK that we can only hope to upgrade to what they scoff at in Japan.
