weight reduction, bigger injectors, more boost, resleeving your block. You did all the "easy" things. The main upgrades can only be done within the motor.

You can get stiffer motor mounts to get more power to the wheels

light weight flywheel and crank pully are some simple little things but id add intercooler spray and ive always wanted to play with watermeth injection.

i agree with oem parts just get lips and slam it. trade your aftermarket for oem. s2k tail light conversion is pretty nice. and get s2k seats.

stock parts for sure...

but i would not push that motor anymore. At 230 hp you are at the limit of that motor.

stock fenders, stock bumper, carbon fiber hood and some nice wheels... then built the motor and lay down like 20 psi on a sleeved block.

damn, that's quite the D-series motor you got there... thought it was a single slammer

personally, that bumper just LOOKS ugly... so i'm not going to say "get a stock bumper" cuz there ARE decent front bumpers out there, but yours in particular just screams hideous

I would change that up... motor is fine other than the suggested items above (i.e. lightened flywheel / new clutch)

clutch flywheel injectors sleeve aftermarket fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, bigger fuel pump, headwork, port & polish, valves springs retainers cam, cam gear, sleeve the block, block guard, lower compression pistons(vitara), better rods, upgrade rod bolts.. the list goes on.. better tubemanifold, bigger turbo...

at 230hp what else do you really need? its a daily driver right?

WoW!

Good job... and that comes from an accomplished Del Sol detractor...

There are a few (small) things I would fix:
[*] Paint those butt fugly skirts to match the rest of your ride.[*] Paint the rusty nuts, bolts, brackets and radiator top in the engine bay too![*] Put some isolators on those plug wires to keep them from flopping around and touching each other.[*] Looks like your ground wire[s] suck too![*] Replace those funky lug nuts with factory acorns (ball seats) before they screw up your rims.

Other than that - looks great!

I love how we put two things in there that cancel each other out. anyway blockgaurds are crap anyway. but I am surprised that out of everybody mentioning crap that cost all this money that no body mentioned just getting a b-series motor and new turbo manifold to make that work on it cause to me sohc is a waste of time. can be quick but like you are feeling right now you are kind of at a limit with out completly building the motor up.

he stated he wants to keep the engine in the above post and get its max potential. but that all costs more than most think. yes i was redundent when i said lock guard and sleeve but they are both options, which he asked for.

a block gaurd should never be an option, they are not a good idea esp when people just put them in and don't think " gee are the sleeves still round after i put this thing in"? and then all kinds of bad things happen after that.

Things that might be good for more power would be to upgrade your throttle body to something larger and intercooler piping larger diameter, bigger fuel system..ie injectors, pump, regulator.

bot sure if you want to get into internal work, but you could start with headwork and things like that.

Lastly bigger turbo and better manifold.

if you want a different look just put the eg front but that fiberglass is not going to last long any ways. Look for some nice wheels 2 that will compliment the captiva blue. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by durfeec &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

route that breather on your head the right way. maybe oil catch can OR back into the block in the right place. it does NOTHING the way it is, and in my opinion, doesn't look clean

pumafeet10 may have a good idea but take into consideration that if it dosent start to boost untill 4k then it might not be a good idea. Just cause you have to remember that cfm's make all the diffrence and making the piping bigger will allow more air but slow down the flow rate so... its a science that can be won.. I had a cheap manifold on and it made decent power but kept cracking so when i went with a better one it stopped cracking but changed the flow rate on the hot side not making as much air on the cold side. good luck to you and when you get ready for the 3 and 400 club we will see you in the next thread doing the motor swap.

yeah i def agree with having a turbo engine the velocity of the air coming in will slow down creating some lag or just slower throttle response but will create more power in the end, and the mani idea was the same idea you had that it looks like a xs or some piece of chinese crap that could or could not crack but def is meant to be cheap and not have good welds , therefore poor quality, and the y can make some kind of decent power but def not what some people have made on higher quality manis.

You won't be able to make much more reliable hp with that motor unitl more of the components are built better ie sleeved block, forged internals, reworked head.
