My s2000 misfiring at startup!!
Hi, I have a stock 2002 s2000 with 48,000 miles and suddenly about one month ago the car started to misfire when I start the car up. It doesn't do it every time. Let says 1 in every 3 starups!! I changed to sparkplugs 2 times and is still doing it. I don't have a cel code on!! I was thinking in dirty injectors, but I threw two bottles of lucas oil injector cleaner in it and still the same!! It misfires only in startups and for about 5 seconds. What could be possibly the problem??

just misfire during startup? my ap1 felt like it was misfiring/studdering in the mid range WOT. found out it was the MAP sensor connector worked itself loose. I'd check that just incase.
mine started up rough in the winter time, it never set a CEL but it would struggle or start for a second missign and stall out. ive heard of it happening to other people, but never in the summer when its warm

Mine did that today actually. Scared the crap out of me because I wasn't expecting it and it was 7am.

may sound stupid, what gas are you running? just thought i'd throw that out there even though it doesn't sound probable. (since its only on startup) try higher grade fuel and see what happens.

93. It's only done it once so i'm not freaking out yet. After it started it ran fine *shrug*

i had the same problem. mine used to misfire at startup and a little at idle. I did everything from replacing coil , new spark plugs, compression and leak down test, and new spark plugs and ran injector cleaner. none of them fixed the problem. Then i read a thread on s2ki saying to remove the injectors and actually have them profesionally cleaned. I found it one of the injectors was sticking and that was what caused me to misfire. So if i were you I would do that next. just my 2cents
