Default Car jumping when first taking off.

Just got a 96 Hatch with a stock D16 in it. When I first take off it starts to jump real bad. Its not the engine since I can push the clutch in and it will rev without stuttering. When I let go of the clutch it will do it for a few seconds then it will go away (rpm's are back down to around normal). It dosen't do it everytime and it has to see for a hour or so. Figured it has to be something with the clutch/tranny.

Wheel hop in a D16? No, just taking off normal.

Could it be the pressure plate or the clutch needing to be replaced?

I had a friend just go through this. After pulling his trainy off he found that the flywheel bolts werent torqued down. When he would take off in first it would hop really bad but once it got in to second gear it mostly quit. I would check the flywheel if that is what it is doing to you.

Thanks for the info. It dosen't do it all the time. I drove it today and it was fine. I have had the car for about a week now and it has done it 2 days of that week of driving.
