Default this thing is driveing me crazy

ok i swaped b18A1 with bent valves, and a piston that was shattered from a 92 integra. For a b18a1 from a 91 integra. everything hooks up fine drove it for about 15 min, and everything was fine. Went to move it and it wouldn't rev pas 2.5 grand, shut it off turned it back on everything was fine. Then went to drive it again same thing only this time shutting it off and turning it back on didn't do anything. It acts like its hitting the rev limiter at 2.5 grand any idea cuz im stumped.

are you throwing any codes? wouldnt the tps throw a code if it was bad? im having kind of the same problem but mine is bogging really bad and in limp mode...have you tried the main relay? try hitting it to see if it makes a dif. then try one you know is good (i think that is what my problem is) .

thats what mine is doing, and no its not throwing any codes. I was thinking the ECU but the one i can find is for an automatic, and i got a 5 speed not sure if that would make a difference, or not i figure 5 speed would have a higher rev limit or something.

it could be the spark plugs too, a friend of mine told me that sometimes at the autoparts they throw the spark plugs to eachother just to being lazy and they break but you can see it since the crack is too small, but if it is that you'll see it when you pull them out = just another option!!

Nah when i had that problem i never got a code for the TPS, and it was kinda tricky to change it cuz it doesn't have screws so you have to hit it whit a screwdriver then get some screws from HOME DEPOT and put those instead cuz after that i played whit it up and down until it feels better

to the o.p....did you try the pump yet. i read that it could be it too but its so expensive to buy one and not know, and im about to put my cell in so i wouldnt want to buy an oe pump... post back up when you try it!

ok so new pump is in nada, still doing it. i put new plugs in when i put the engine in, so i don't think its the plugs. im ready to like push this thing over a hill or something. a friend of mine said it could be a return line. so i guess thats next on my list, because i still cant find a MT computer at a junkyard. even though it should still be a pr4 just like what i have.

are there any CEL codes yet?

have you opened up the distributer and inspected it for damage?

did you mix up the plugs for the MAP sensor and the IAT sensor (I think its the IAT but I'm not positive) Its a common mistake.

yeh the plug for the map and tps are the same, but if you unplug the map it will throw the code. to the op, are you sure the other tps you put on your car is working correctly? i still havnt measured mine yet. but i know when i unplug it it doesnt make a difference so im figuring its bad.

i'm willing to bet anything it's the ecu you're using if you know any one with a manual civic, teg, or a del sol ask them to borrow it to see if thats it

but if thats not it make sure you check the coolant temp sensor and make sure the sensor, and the wiresare not cut and not broken thats the biggest thing thats overlooked and the main thing that would send it into limp mode

well, i rewired my coolant temp and intake temp sensors so i know they are good. My car has been sitting and all ive done is clean some stuff and rewire alot of stuff. thats what i think my tps is bad, i got it pretty wet on accident...but for the o.p. i was wondering if the new tps was known good. coolant temp sensor will throw the code..
