In my 2002 honda acord V6 the maintenenace light flashes on start 5 or 6 times and turns off when I turn on the car...

the tranny is shifting fine so far so I doubt it is about the dreaded v6 tranny...*knocks on wood*

i checked my fuel cap, fluid levels no idea what it is...

the car odometer is at 49,160 if that helps

It's a reminder to do maintenance, that's all.

Do (or have done) the required maintenance and turn the light off. To turn it off... hold in the trip reset button, put the key in the ignition and turn it to "on" (but don't start the car). Wait ten or fifteen seconds. The door may need to be open.

This is also discussed in your owner's manual.
