Default Transmission swap from 5 spd to auto

Hi, I will b e picking up a 97 Del Sol at a good price but I really wanted an auto. Will it be hard to expense to convert? And does anyone recommend a good shop in the Bay Area (CA)? I try the look through the search but was unable to find any information. Thanks.

Don't, just don't even think about it, i've done automatic to manual swaps before, those are a joke, going the other way is a nightmare. Either learn to drive stick or buy one that was a factory automatic.

Why did you want an automatic?

Also, what trim level is it?

Yeah, how come? I've never understood the appeal of the automatic transmission, rough jerky shifts, no control whatsoever, poorer mileage and just not fun to drive. I've just never understood why anyone would want one.
