Well im building a motor and i wanted to get some advice on what i should and shouldnt do. and anything to help me out. im building a high compression b18a1, ctr pistons, ls rods, ls head, hasting rings, i want to build it with out any problems with the ls rods being to weak or spinning a berring, anything like that. let me know what you guys think. thanks
principles of proper engine-building discussed here many times in the past will carry over for you. search for threads discussing non-vtec builds, lsvtecs, etc. while they may not provide an exact blueprint for you, they'll teach you lots. also, get a Helm manual and find a good machinist.

thanks guys, i know about building a motor its just i have been hearing bad things about this build, deff about the ls rods being weak and the rod bolts,
ls rods are fine, as long as you upgrade the bolts.
No offense, but before I'd bother spending the $ for PCT pistons, etc., I'd spend the $ for a B16 or gsr head w/stock cams/valvetrain, mill it, and throw it on a stock LS shortblock (w/upgraded rod bolts). If you're considering aftermarket ls cams/valvetrain in addition to the PCT slugs, lsvtec is cheaper, likely to make more power, and has more potential.
