Default Exhaust Hitting Rear Sway and Rattling??

I just installed my OEM exhaust today (had an HKS that I took off)...and after we finished, I started up the car and there was a pretty loud rattle from the exhaust.

We looked under the car and realized that the Driver's Side OEM exhaust piping was hitting what I believe could be the rear sway bar..

I bought the car recently and the previous owner told me that he replaced the rear sway bar so I'm thinking this is what is causing the rattling...

Can anyone confirm whether or not the black bar you see in the pics is the rear sway bar? Also we compared the stock exhaust height etc with my buddies and it is the same height...so it shouldn't be an issue with our install

I attached some pics here:

did you happen to compare sway bars to your buddy's? Maybe the previous owner of yours put an incorrect one on the rear and that's why it is hitting. I don't recall my rear sway having a bend like that when I swapped it out.

hmmm....I guess I'll have to check again

I do have the OEM sways so I can always slap those back on I guess

So the picture does indeed show the rear sway bar?

Hows the fitment for the tips? Maybe you have the wrong rubber hangers on that muffler or something.

i have the same problem.. after i installed my exhaust there was this weird ratteling noise, first i was told that it could be syncros or my clutch master cylinder but i finaly took it to the dealer and they said it was my exhaust that was hitting... it sounds really bad i dont like it at all but the only thing i can think to do really is to get different clamps... or those ruberband thingies that hook up the exhaust and make it hang a little lower so it dosnt touch anything... or i read somewhere that you can put some foam and tape over the part its hitting to get rid of the sound as well....

Heat wrap that part of the exhaust as the sway bar

i installed it for him...He was running a HKS exhaust before with the aftermarket sways and there was no problem...

after we installed the stock ap1 exhaust with the same rubber pieces from the hks exhaust...we noticed it was rubbing...
