sleeve your block first, go forged internals, new cams cam gears, port and polish your head...then think about turbo, you get booocooo gains by building your motor correctly then adding turbo instead of skipping straight to boost. check out this thread

Is this really necessary ? Tell me something, why would you recoommend getting cams if you know that this is going to be his first turbo car ? No need to get cams at this stage, you can go 500 whp on stock valvetrain. If you don't know, don't post.
No need to sleeve motor either if you're on a budget, stock bottom end with a good tune is good for about 280-310 whp. Once again .. if you don't know, don't post.

wow really.... i was trying tohelp make his "first tubro motor" last, sleeving the block and going forged is always a good idea when going turbo, because a hseries have fairly thin walls comparatively, and unless you know this guy personally you never know how much boost hell try to run..and end up cracking his block because he wanted to be a hardass. Sure its not necessary, but i never said it was. i said my reccomendation, was it necessary to sleeve my k in my daily...no, but was it worth every penny..definately. so please dont try and flame.. k thanks
edit and he never said if this was a daily or a track beast...covering all bases

best advice to give since original posted seems like he's in the learning stage, definitely at least research it and see why it is recommended.

If you are on a budget at least make sure you can at the very least get a new motor in case you crack a ring due to the weak ringlands around the pistons so the car isntt sitting and your screwed

also get a good manifold, not a log

don't need to build the head unless you are going all out, but i would def consider getting the block sleeved

The "sleeves" are going to be the last thing fail.
