Default Trying to choose a new car..

Hey whatsup Honda-tech. Ive been a VW guy for the past 3 years now, and ive realized that part prices are rediculous for anything. Im trying to decide on what I want next initially I was thinking 240sx or something RWD. But idk atm its hard to find a decent one in my area for a good price. So Ive turned towards Honda/Acura.
Ive only owned a few a 86 CRX my first car rusted out in NY. A 90 Integra LS. Had some motor problems sold it and bought a 93 Del-Sol. Which I sold 3 years ago for the GTI I have now.

JW what your guys oppinions would be for a new project. All my buddies have WRX's and one has a RX7. I dont think a civic/integra will ever be able to keep up, but hey why not, is it possible? Or should I stick to building something clean. shaved bay with turbo kit?

So question is how hard would it be to get a civic/integra to keep up with a wrx? Pretty much impossible? plz inform a newb...

Thx for any help/suggestions. Prolly a dumb question havnt researched it much other then Mini Me swaps. LS/Vtec swaps.. soo lets hear it.

id say go with the gsr!!! the reliability depends on how when the car was maintained but generally they are very reliable both the gsr and a Ls. plus you easily put a turbo on either and keep up with your friends. The reliability once you turbocharge depends how well you built the motor but the gsr can do 300-350whp on stock!!

i would say your best bet would be a crx with a b18b turbo, but i think you should go with an integra with turbo and you will be right there with them at about 10-15 psi

yea as long as the car is tuned right and its not spittin and spuddering from to much fuel....turbo either one and make sure you get it tuned...the wrx will only get you outta the hole(at the track of coarse) and sometimes with the right suspension setup, that wont even be a factor...now the rx7 is another story (depending on whats done to it)

Yah if you want to have electrical problems for life and engines which are mildly reliable. Go with a GSR and turbo it you will easily outrun WRX's.

lol Obviously you didn't sense my sarcasm. Man with wavy hand...

To OP: GET A HONDA. Possibilities are endless, mods are relatively low cost (compared to other car makes), high reliability, and very fun to drive. THE END!

go with a gsr...great platform to begin with from the start...disc all the way around subtle power and great handling...minor suspension work and a liitle bit of tuning and you'll be there...or you could just opt for a Type-r...best handling fwd car...every other na honda is just trying to catch up to a factory b18c-5

btw WRX's dyno right around a 170-180whp. AWD drivetrain loss sucks. I had one and had a ton of fun with it in all weather conditions. Only downside is their tranys are horrible. STi 6 speeds are bullitproof though.

x2. Had good friend of mine that had a '03 wrx that was completely stage 4 built. I cant remember the exact numbers after dyno tuning, but after a year and a half he had rebuilt his tranny 4 times. He didnt want to go with the sti tranny swap due to money so he returned to stock and sold everything to include the car. Those tranny's are made out of glass.

To the OP, stay away from almost everything you've heard here... Are you looking for a Nice DD thats reliable and nice? Because a Turbo'd CRX may be fast, but its HIDIOUS garbage, You'd hate driving it.. If you want to keep up with WRX's I would probably get a WRX... Even though they have shitty Trany's. Just get an STI or EVO. I personally hate Turbo'd Hondas, they sound like garbage, arent reliable, and most of them are Pieces of ****.. If you want a nice, reliable DD, get a RSX type S, Integra GSR, Prelude, something that looks nice, and still has a little power, while being an extremely nice car.. remember, its not all about 1/4 times, unless thats what you want.. Stay away from garbage

To the op, type in lambo vs civic into youtube and click on the one that has a busted looking blue civic on stock wheels. if you click on the right one it will start playing the music from tokyo drift. That will give you an example of what a decently built motor can do. I laugh everytime I watch that vid, the reaction from the guys in the lambo, who are the ones filming, is priceless. The guy ridding shotty in the lambo is hilarious.

If you're looking into autocross or something of that nature, I'd say go RWD. I have been so impressed with the handling of a RWD car compared to FWD. Unless you can afford an S2K lol then do that. But I'm assuming you can't.
