i have a 99 ls automatic and want to swap a 94-01 gsr 5spd tranny in do you know how much it will cost me in parts & tranny. and how long do yu think it will take?
It largely depends on how much you can source the tranny for. For pedals, lines, master, and slave you shouldn't spend over a hundred bucks or so, but you'll need a clutch and flywheel along with the necessary fasteners for them as well as an aftermarket upper tranny mount as no OEM mounts will work for the swap. Add a shifter and a shift linkage in as well. Even if you score a hell of a deal on a tranny you could easily see the total project cost for this escalate to well over a thousand bucks
Regarding how long it'll take, well that depends on how good you are with a set of wrenches. With two people working we/ve done it in as little as three hours before, but expect it to be a day long project if you haven't done it before.
