VSS no CEL light
Speedometer and odometer now working but when i jump the connectors it doesn't bring up code 17.
however it did bring it up last night when i took it out and replugged it because of a code 17.
suddenly 1 night and code 17's gone. whats the problem? why isn't my speedometer and odometer not working?
i saw some green stuff/ powerdery stuff on the prongs but i thought that was there for the electricity to go through. i've heard of substances put on electrical plugs and the sort for better connectivityy...but iuno... any help?

cut the wires. connected a new connector in. PLUGGED INTO VSS. GAME DONE FIXED !!!
for future reference people. look at the connector and your vss, sometimes the only thing that needs to be changed is that connector.

Glad you got it fixed..
Just out of curiosity did you look at the connector you cut off.. Usually the pins break off inside the connector and you can just use some needle nose and remove it and replace the sensor... rather then to splice in a new connector..

was too nasty and shiet. can't see anything. but the middle looked like there was nothing in it. i rather just get another, makes it easier and it'll probably last a bit longer too. do you think if i wrapped the whole entire connecter and plug in electrical tape it'll stop it from getting all gunky and corroded from all that dirt and ...etc.
